چکیده

Abstract Background and Aims Lupus nephritis is a frequent potentially serious complication of SLE. The present study aimed to evaluate the usefulness urinary IL-6 as non-invasive diagnostic & prognostic biomarkers disease activity in LN. Method was done IMS Sum hospital, Bhubaneswar, India from January, 2018 July 2022. included 20 healthy controls 32 patients SLE diagnosed based Systemic International Collaborating Clinic (SLICC) criteria, who presented with renal involvement. exclusion criteria inability obtain informed consent without Urinary levels were assessed before initiation therapy by quantitative sandwich EASIA technique using human kit (DIA Source Belgium). All underwent ultrasound guided biopsy results classified according ISN/RPS classification Treatment started all class LN per KDIGO guidelines. again after 6 months induction phase treatment. Results In our patients, female male ratio 7:1 mean age 28.68 ± 9.28 years. study, ANA positive 96.8%, anti-dsDNA Ab 78%, C3 low 78% C4 72% patients. Based on findings, there 2 cases Class II LN, III 19 IV 5 V have significantly higher (301.58 483.96 pg/ml) compared (4.7±2.282 p-value = 0.001. different classes showed statistically significant difference between (p-value 0.005). Highest values (475.126 580.90 seen Class-IV which most active form lowest (28.28 ±7.30pg/ml) Class-II correlation found serum creatinine presence sediment but no 24 hour protein (p value 0.799). (6.25%) died, 3 (9.37%) lost follow up, 16 (50%) achieved complete remission, 8 (25%) partial remission did not show any improvement near normal among 12 (75%) out treatment 0.001). remained elevated (100%) 0.028, also had at 0.109). Conclusion may provide simple potential biomarker involvement be used monitor therapy.

Prognostic significance of DNA-binding capacity patterns in patients with lupus nephritis.

The time course of DNA binding capacity (DNA-bc) was found to correlate with the clinical course in a group of 21 patients who had biopsy-proven lupus glomerulonephritis and were treated with immunosuppressive agents. Eight patients showed a sequential DNA-bc pattern in which a high titre of anti-DNA antibody was present for a prolonged period of time all having an unfavourable clinical course....
